Phoenix Whispers
Rise Strong. Rise Renewed.
Our world has a way of teaching us things we weren’t expecting.
Some mornings, those lessons arrive gently - whispering on the breeze.
Lately, I’ve been learning how to cope with disappointment.
For weeks, on my early walks, I’ve been hoping to see the March hares.
There’s a little family that lives along the fields near where I walk. I love their stillness, their alert ears, the sudden burst of energy as they leap into motion. Seeing them always helps me feel whole.
So when I spotted a shape in the right place, in that familiar patch of grass… my heart lifted.
"There you are," I thought.
But as I got closer, the outline shifted.
Not a hare.
Just a pheasant.
A bird I see all the time. Beautiful, but ordinary.
It’s interesting how even the tiniest expectations can tug at us.
How quickly the spirit dips when something hoped for doesn’t quite land.
How We Cope With Disappointment in Real Life
It’s in these little moments that we really learn how to cope with disappointment - the quiet stumbles, the small, “Oh…” moments, the places where hope and reality don’t quite meet.
But there's more to my tale: as I rounded the next bend, the world shifted again.

A barn owl appeared.
Soft as dawn.
Swooping and gliding across my path.
It stayed for a long, unhurried moment, as if it had come specifically to be seen.
And in that stillness, I heard the truth:
Not getting what you hoped for doesn’t mean beauty isn’t coming.
It just means you weren’t at the right corner yet.
The Whisper
Disappointment isn't an end.
When what we hoped for doesn't show-up,
what inner shift keeps you moving forward?
I help empower overwhelmed school leaders to ignite clarity, reclaim their time and renew their energy.
Empower. Ignite. Renew.
I’m here when you’re ready to explore your next step.
